NOVA DANCE & COLOR GUARD

The Nova Dance & Color Guard is an auxiliary organization at Cypress Woods High School that meets in the fall and spring semesters, but is directly connected with the Cypress Woods High School Marching Band. As a visual effect ensemble, Nova is responsible for adding color, vibrancy, and elegance to the marching show. Nova performs at all marching competitions, football half-time performances, and pep rallies in the fall. In the spring, members will audition for a select number of spots to perform in the Varsity Winter Guard at TCGC and WGI competitions. All members will participate in the Dance - Spring Show. Nova is an art and dance-based auxiliary group recommended for anyone wanting additional dance performance opportunities that will help them continue to develop their dance skills. There will be leadership roles available within the Nova Dance & Color Guard. Nova membership auditions are open to all students who attend Cypress Woods High School, and members will be selected by audition in the spring semester.* Team practice wear, accessories, bags, warms-ups, and a uniform (with any required accessories) will be required purchases for each member. Uniforms are ordered in May prior to the upcoming season, so a non-refundable uniform fee of $210 must be paid up front to pay for the uniform and secure membership. The Nova Dance Company is led by Khalil Sanders - Director of NOVA and Color Guard, with assistance from Lauren Gregory - Director of Dance and Brittany Reilly - Assistant Director of Dance, and T.J. Peterman - Director of Bands.

- How to Join -
Click on the "Join Nova" button below to start the process of becoming a member. You will need to fill out the entire Google Form. Make sure your uniform sizing is accurate, and that you acknowledge the attendance, attire, and behavior expectations. After you complete the Google Form, you will be added to the band CHARMS account where you will then be able to pay for your uniform deposit. If you have questions and need more information before filling out the application to join, click on the "Questions?" button to contact a director.
